100G: Enabling CSPs to Lead in a Highly Competitive Market
Communication Service Providers (CSPs) are operating in an ever increasing competitive environment. They must move quickly to address changing customer requirements and adapt to intensifying competitive threats in the era of digital transformation. It is imperative that CSPs quickly roll out dynamic, differentiated services that address the specific needs of their customers – “One size fits all” solutions are history.
Pinpointing the Challenges that CSPs are Facing
CSPs are faced with the need to meet the growing demand for ultra-high bandwidth for mobile backhaul and MEF 3.0 business services, including data center and enterprise HQ connectivity, and high capacity E-Access for wholesale services.
CSPs require solutions that can prove to be an ideal fit for cloud connectivity as well as multi-tenant units (MTUs). This will allow traffic from different branches and business customers to be aggregated and demarcated without requiring additional dedicated service demarcation devices at the customer premises. At the same time, they need to securely deliver multiple separate VPNs with differentiated classes of service.
In short, to remain competitive, CSPs are looking for simplicity and agility to help their customers navigate their own transformations.
Rising to the Challenge: The New ETX-2i-100G
To help CSPs meet these challenges, RAD has introduced the ETX-2i-100G, the latest addition to its comprehensive Ethernet access device (EAD) portfolio.
The ETX-2i-100G addresses the need for reliable and service assured demarcation and aggregation at data rates beyond 10 Gbps. It also provides CSPs with the necessary diagnostics and performance monitoring tools to deliver strong SLAs to meet enterprises’ exacting requirements.
RAD’s entire ETX-2 family of EADs and aggregators runs on its carrier-grade operating system and the ETX-2i-100G is no exception. This allows a uniform user experience throughout the service lifecycle. Another important benefit is offered through the ETX-2i-100G’s comprehensive zero-touch provisioning (ZTP) process, as network and service automation mean less errors due to human intervention and lower costs.
As more and more carriers are either planning, testing or already deploying SDN/NFV-based services, they need future-proof solutions that meet today’s and tomorrow’s challenges. The ETX-2i-100G, with its support of SDN management and control (NETCONF/YANG), offers this exact mix of capabilities for today’s network transformation.
