RAD, Sandvine and CenturyLink Will Conduct Application-Aware Networking with SLA Assurance Joint Proof of Concept at GEN 15 Conference
RAD, the industry leader of Service Assured Access solutions and virtualization at the customer edge, in collaboration with Sandvine, (TSX: SVC) a leading provider of intelligent broadband network solutions for fixed and mobile operators and CenturyLink, a global communications, hosting, cloud and IT services company, announced that they are conducting a joint Proof of Concept (PoC) demonstration at the 2015 MEF Global Ethernet Networking (GEN15) conference and exposition taking place in Dallas, Texas from November 16 to 19. The three companies will showcase application–aware service level agreement networking solutions, designed for communications service providers (CSPs).
RAD and Sandvine will demonstrate how their award-winning Service Assured Access and Cloud Services Policy Controller solutions are integrated in an application-aware networking architecture designed to help service providers, like CenturyLink, deliver highly reliable and intelligent business services. In particular, RAD’s programmable MiNID provides powerful SLA assurances, application aware networking, and packet capture capabilities in a very convenient “plug wherever you need” SFP sleeve form factor that is ideal for introducing innovative service offerings into existing networks without the need for forklift upgrades.
“RAD’s programmable, small form factor MiNID with SFP sleeve and bypass relay options is a highly attractive solution for us. It has proven valuable as an operations tool to support service activation testing, monitoring and managing of our network connections, both on- and off-net, with minimal disruption and investment” states Drew Flechsig, Director Network Policy, Traffic and Security at CenturyLink “Further, we like the programmable application-awareness capability that offers the potential to give us complete layer 2-7 performance visibility and control at the network, service and application levels, to help deliver highly reliable and intelligent business, wholesale and managed services.”
The PoC will demonstrate powerful three core capabilities, including assured connectivity for Carrier Ethernet and IP, as well as application-aware visibility and policy control.
“Application-aware Service Assured Access solutions create opportunities for differentiated value-added service offerings, improve network efficiency, and boost performance monitoring capabilities” states Ulik Broida, RAD’s Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. “It equips CSPs with unique tools to strengthen brand awareness, increase loyalty, and grow revenue.”
The integration between RAD’s and Sandvine’s solutions is featured in the PoC and is a finalist for the “Multi-Vendor Innovation” category of the MEF’s Ethernet Excellence Awards. The winners will be announced at an awards dinner ceremony on Tuesday, November 17.
“The Proof of Concept showcase gets to the heart of true innovation. We are pleased to see industry leaders RAD, Sandvine, and CenturyLink collaborating to support the MEF vision through the evolution and innovation of their POC,” said Nan Chen, President of the MEF. “At this PoC showcase GEN15 visitors will be able to see first-hand how to deliver highly reliable and intelligent business services for a richer business application experience and greater operational efficiency.”
The GEN 15 conference and exposition, is hosted by the MEF and will take place at the Omni Hotel in Dallas, Texas. In addition to their participation in the joint proof of concept, RAD is hosting an exhibition booth and is participating on some of the conference panels.
